“Old Gold Win Again”
A 12-gun salute from Union soldiers greeted the Saginaw Old Golds prior to their Vintage Base Ball match with Rochester on Saturday at Halbach Park in Rochester. The Old Golds then made themselves feel at home by winning their second consecutive game of the season, 11-7. The team presented the game ball to Chris “Hollywood” Holly for his performance. He had three hits and four RBI, scored three aces (runs) and had three key catches in left field. Team captain Adam “Squints” McCauley had two hits, four RBI and two aces for the Old Golds. The Old Golds are idle until 1 p.m., Saturday, June 14, when they play the Midland Mighty River Hogs at Midland’s Chippewassee Park near the Tridge
