“Old Golds defeat Grand Blanc”
The Saginaw Old Golds scored seven runs in the third inning, and went to post an 11-2 Vintage Base Ball win over the Grand Blanc Thrashers on Sunday at Grand Blanc High School. Adam McCauley had three hits, Rick Spitz, Ryan Dost, Tom Tesch, Donny Cox and Chuck Mahon had two hits each. Kevin Beemer hit a home run in the fourth inning. The Old Golds improve to 8-3 in their first full season. On Sunday, the Old Golds will hold a 6 p.m. scrimmage at Ojibway Island. The public is invited to attend. The Old Golds’ next match is at noon on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Bridgeport Elementary School on Southfield Drive. The Old Gold will play the Thrashers as part of the Bridgeport Festival activities.
