“Old Golds Win”
John Piersall, Kevin Beemer and Patrick Curry each collected four hits to lead the Saginaw Old Golds to a 22-7 Vintage Base Ball Club victory over the Port Huron Welkins on Sunday at Ojibway Island. The victory improves the Old Golds record to 9-4. Adam McCauley, Rick Spitz, Tom Tesch, Brandon Daig, Nick Hammond, Chris Rousseau and Chuck Mahon each had three hits for the Old Golds. The Old Golds return to action at 2 p.m. Sunday when they play the Rochester Grangers at Ojibway Island. Bill Ramey will play the role of President Abraham Lincoln and will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Admission is free.
