“Old Golds roll”

The Saginaw Old Golds pounded out 46 hits, including 10 doubles and two triples, and rolled to a 29-13 Vintage Base Ball win over the Midland Mighty River Hogs last weekend at Ojibway Island.  The victory improves the Old Golds’ record to 13-4.  John Piersall had three doubles and was awarded the game ball.  Nick Hammond, Adam McCauley, Ryan Dost, Patrick Curry and Kevin Beemer each had four hits.  Tobi Larkin played all nine positions and had three hits.  The Saginaw Old Golds will take on the Saginaw Stars at 6:30 p/m/ on Thursday at Ojibway Island.  On Saturday, the Saginaw Old Golds and Saginaw Stars will compete in the Michigan World Series at the Bay Ciry Middlegrounds.  The Midland Mighty River Hogs and the Bay City Independents also will take part in the tournament, which starts at 8:30 a.m. with the Old Golds playing the Stars are Clarkson Park.
